What is Holy Week?
The Holy Week is the most sacred week in the Christian calendar. It’s the final week of Jesus’ earthly life before His resurrection, a time to slow down, remember, and reflect on the core of our faith.
It begins on Palm Sunday, when Jesus enters Jerusalem, and ends on Easter Sunday, when He rises from the dead.
Each day of the week holds a key moment in His journey:
Palm Sunday(4/13) – Jesus enters Jerusalem as King
Holy Monday(4/14) – He clears the temple
Holy Tuesday(4/15) – He teaches in the temple
Holy Wednesday(4/16) – Judas prepares to betray Him
Maundy Thursday(4/17) – The Last Supper and Gethsemane
Good Friday(4/18) – Jesus is crucified
Holy Saturday(4/19) – He lies in the tomb
Easter Sunday(4/20) – Jesus rises from the dead
What Christians often do during Holy Week?
During Holy Week, many Christians take time to slow down and walk with Jesus by reading Scripture, asking meaningful questions, and spending time in prayer. It’s a way to reflect on His final days, listen for God’s voice, and stay close to the heart of the gospel, day by day.
